moto phone tools updates?

when i open my phone tools it ask about an update. so i let it download!
here's the question do i have to install it or does it do it by it's self? if not where do i find the updates to install?

That depends on the computer's settings, it may just be enabled to notify of the new updates availables. In your case, you said that you downloaded them, those are self install updates, haven't you see slight changes in MPT? like new links. Good luck.
