V3M skin, Bit PiM giving issues...

I am sure this has been covered but I cannot find a definitive answer anywhere. I am trying to get a custom skin I created onto my Verizon RAZR V3M. I downloaded Bit Pim, and the Motorola USB Modem Driver (Windows XP will recognize my phone as a USB modem and will charge my phone, and even Bit Pim sees the COM port as being used.). But Bit Pim still refuses to recognize my phone...even though it sees the "Motorola USB Modem Port" as being on.....I have it on "V3cm" and auto port set, using Bit Pim 0.9.09.

Let me know if this is not the correct forum or section to pose this question and I will be on my merry way!

thanks a ton,

mike

Apparently there is a different application that is utilizing my phone and is blocking Bit Pim from accessing it since only one program can access it at a time. Any thoughts on how to allow Bit Pim exclusive rights to the modem?

i had the same issue with bitpim. ended up opening up bitpim, plug in the phone then trying to load my files when it tells you com port is not available click o.k. then leaving my phone plugged in power it down, then power back up. when the phone is done powering up i loaded my files again and everything loaded fine.
just thought i would share how i got connected. the way i described i have done several times and is the only way i can get it to read my phone.

What ended up happening is that bitpim would say it didnt see my phone but when asked to load the filesystem or retrieve info from the phone, it would do it just fine. haha
