I've searched and searched the forum and couldn't find the solution..

i have a samsung d807 that has ringtones.. and i want to transfer the ringtones via bluetooth... i've done it before with my samsung and a razr phone but for some odd reason it seems really hard to connect w/ the 8525 ...

i got to start>settings>connections>bluetooth

and check Turn on Bluetooth and Make this device Discoverable
click on New Partnership and do all the steps...(pass key, etc..)

i even turned ON accept all incoming beams (beam)

and still no connection...

what's wrong? please help??

do i have to change a setting somewhere? it's like a firewall or something? ah dunno please help...

thanks in advance!

Not an answer, but I tried it on my 8525 with our D807 - it didn't work.

After pairing, I noticed the "Services" available for the D807 were: SERIAL PORT. I tried refreshing to see if anything else would show up, but notta. I could bluetooth a ringtone to the D807 quite easily though.

So, I checked my "Services" with our 8125, which I have received ring tones from, and they are: DIALUP NETWORKING.

When we had the Samsung D307 I had problems bluetoothing to the 8125 as well. So, this is our second Samsung phone that seems to have limited bluetoothing.

Cingular removed the Bluetooth Object Push service from most of their phones from Motorola and HTC to prevent people from stealing ringtones rather than having to use Itunes/downloading from the cingular service . (This was also done with the HTC Blue Angel/Siemens SX66) Your best hope is to head over to xda-developers and download a custom ROM that allows you to use that profile, or to use a cable and software to transfer the ringtone from the phone to the PC, and the nfrom there to the pda. Also, an MMS might work.

If you don't want to load a new ROM I would go http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...Hermes_Registry

and download and install HTweakC and in the BT section check off enable Object Push

I don't remember this being turned off when I first got mine because I swap ringtones with my friend who has a razor on Centennial all the time.

Um..be careful with those roms at XDA-Developers. You can brick your PDA pretty easily, and the warrenty is voided the minute you use a non-official rom. Which means you're out 500 bucks if you brick your pda.
