using 8525 to listen to radio over internet?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I enjoy several internet radio broadcasts. I have established these as favorites, get to the sites and everything responds like on the desk top except that there is no sound. The sites indicate that I need media player, which the 8525 comes with and I adjusted the 8525 Media Play to indicate that I am receiving high speed reception ( I'm in a 3g area). Still no sound.

Any suggestions, besides down loading my own songs ( I have 40 gb iPod for that).

TIA

PS this is an awesome phone!

I've been listening to groove salad ever since I got my 8525. the .wma streams play fine, but I had to dowlonad gsplayer to play the mp3 streams.

only thing is that it seems that gsplayer wont initiate radio traffic. I have to go to a web page first, so that im connected to the isp, then it works fine.

I also cannot figure out how to associate .pls files with gsplayer.

For about $13, Resco Radio with all its features and formats supported is well worth it. Try the 31 day free trial.

Awesome! I bought it!

The sound from my phone is amazing, especially when using the stereo headphones.

Thanks for your assistance.

when I listened to DI.fm last night, it would play for a minute then it stopped playing. The phone seemed to go into sleep mode (?)
anyone else get this?

different applications for different people. I've been wanting to stream mp3's to my car/boat for years now. It always seemed stupid that I had to carry aroudna 20gb hard drive to carry my music with me. The fact that the device also acts as my cellphone and my organizer is a bonus.

I love Resco Radio....I just get the shoutcast .pls files, open then in notepad and copy and paste the URL into Resco Radio and listen to my favorite stations!

Now imagine if you have 3G...you can always have wireless radio wherever you go!

Have you tried this web site? It lets you choose radio stations that broadcast in the USA. Works on my Blackjack and is free. (Well with the data connect plan)
