As you are probably seeing on your 8525, UMTS is ON!!!! Yes, yes, yes, it is on, and we've all been anticipating for this for a LONG LONG time. Now, we've really got something to compete with Verizon's EVDO! Of course, when Verizon rolls out Rev.A our UMTS will be a history again, but at least!!! We've got 3G!!! People! Let's get some booze and celebrate!!
And, all you 8525 owner with MediaMax plan, including me, this is a very good news for us finally. Since we are not paying Cingular for their overly charged PDA Data Connect plan for a Forty-Soul-Sucking-Dollar fee... now with FASTER data service! I was wondering... if Sprint is charging their customers about 20 dollars for their EVDO Rev.A service a month, why can't Verizon do so with "not even Rev.A" EVOD service? Or even Cingular with their "not-quite-there-yet" UMTS? Anyways... Let's drink to this!

I have a medianet 200 plan on an 8525, does that mean I am utilizing UMTS if I see the "U" in the status indicator, and am accessing the internet?
