Originally posted by Blazers4ever I just ordered mine, and they said they couldn't discount the phone even though I am eligible for a upgrade discount. The reason he gave was that the phone is so new. I even offered to extend my contract, and he still said it was impossible. Definite BS because I was on the phone earlier inquiring about adding an extra line to my account and the CSR offered me a $50 discount (for the GU87) and waive the activation fee for the new line. What I think I will do is use the phone for a couple of weeks, then send it back. Then when it is finally available at retail stores, I will try and get my discount through them. |

Originally posted by ferniesp Beautiful screen, second to none so far. Nice camera. Nice looking phone. I love the look. Kind of big when opened up. Boring menu. horrible call quality. Volume is very low. Speakerphone is lousy. No active flip. Voice dialing is not that great. Phonebook is the worst I have seen. Very boring overall. This is just a portion of what I think. Read the others, they almost mirror what I have said here. Good luck with yours. |

Originally posted by kg4vth (Beautiful screen, second to none so far.) I agree 100%, makes reading email and sms messages so much easier, this is a big plus in my book. (Nice camera.) I agree to, wish image sizes could be bigger like 480 X 280 or something along those lines so they would be bigger when emailed to a computer. (Nice looking phone. I love the look. ) I agree (Kind of big when opened up. ) Yes it is big but so what its a very nice solid feeling phone, and when it is folded its very slim unlike most flip phones. (Boring menu.) Menu is not borring just a bit misorganized. (horrible call quality.) This must be a network isue for you, My call quality is awesome. better than all my other phones so far. So is my signal strenght better than my T68i and Nokia, in the areas I use my phone. (Volume is very low.) I disagree most of my calls I need to turn the volume down halfway otherwise its too loud. (Speakerphone is lousy. ) Show me a better Cell Phone Speaker Phone, works great when using the #121 Voice Info feature. (No active flip.) I dont care about that, If it did have it I would have the feature disabled. (Voice dialing is not that great. ) Can't say since I dont use this feature and have no intrest in using it. (Phonebook is the worst I have seen. ) I agree comapred to the T68i Phone Book, which was more powerfull and better organized, but I am getting use to it. David

Originally posted by ferniesp Well, it was fun fooling with the GU87 for a few days. It's a good thing my Wife doesn't care to test them like I do. Anyhow, my review hasen't changed. The phone is off back to AT&T as of today. I just want to make a few things clear. I see that their is some hard feelings on feedback, whether it's me or someone else. Keep in mind folks that this is what this forum is all about. The final decision is going to be yours regardless of what anyone says. Going forward, I just want to add some final thougts on this particular phone. I still feel that this phone has a very unique look. But when you use it day in and day out, it's hard to justify the price even with the discount. I mean, look whats coming in the next few months( 3650, 7250, Nec 515 and even the newer version of the GU87). To spend $300 bucks right now is just foolish for me( actually my Wife). And to the person who said I don't like any GSM phones, let me respond to that. I think the Nokia 8390i is one of the nicest phones in the line up. I just loved it. My Wife loves hers. Giving mine up was a very difficult thing to do. Thank god my v60i came to my rescue. Frail47 turned me on to the Nokia 3590. Now this is one fine phone for the money and overall functionality. Great feel and fantastic volume with very good features. Now, who can say that I hate all GSM phones? Lastly, I am very honest with reviews. In doing so, you hurt peoples feelings at times. I thought I was going to be banned from the board for posting some very nasty reviews of the v60t. The cool thing about it is that the folks that were offended, most came around to reflect the same thing once the dust settled. So lets cool the daggers going back and forth and come out with good solid, non biased reviews. Later,
