Was curious, if I have aMediaMax 200, does that level of service use UMTS , when accessing the internet?

If UMTS is available you can access it no matter what plan you have. The plans just have different terms and compliment different needs.

It definitely appeared faster

I am in California, and what is interesting is that the indicator stays at U for a while, then switches to G for a while. I guess they are still testing
