BJ Bluetooth Services (pairing with N770) no pan reported

I cannot get a nokia 770 to pair with the blackjack. When I scan the BJ with sdptool to determine what profiles are supported, only A2DP comes up. Obviously it supports more or else my BT tethering wouldn't work with the a laptop. So is there a hidden setting that needs to be set in the registry to report the PAN profile. Any help would be appreciated before I start wasting a bunch of time digging in deeper.
