8525 car mount with charging & audio out (pics)

I figured I'd share a couple of pictures of how I modified my Proclips powered car mount to use the 8525's included y-cable so I can have both charging and audio out capability in my car without having to mess with connecting wires to it each time. In order to do this, I purchased the powered Proclips/Brodit device holder for the TyTN/8525.

I disassembled the power connector at the bottom of the device holder on the car mount. It uses a standard USB plug to charge the phone. In order to replace that with the y-cable, I had to carefully cut the rubber covering off the USB end of the y-cable and mount it where the original power connector was.

I used the power connector I just removed to power the y-cable, and I used a headphone to 3.5mm adapter to convert to the cable going to my car stereo. Hopefully the pictures are pretty self explanatory. It wasn't difficult at all, and it took all of 30 minutes to do.
