Need a little help

I am having trouble getting my phone to connect to my computer. I've downloaded a few drivers and have gotten nowhere. What is strange though is when I connect my phone to my computer it says "Found new hardware v3c" but my phone is a v3m. has anyone else come across this?

I too have a V3m that the computer recognizes as a V3c.

The v3m and v3c are practically the same phone aside from the micro sd card slot.
