Is there anybody that use the 7130 series here?

Speakerphone and earpiece volume is NIGHT & DAY compare to the 7290...

Waiting to activate it on BES tomorrow at work and I'm all set.

Have a Verizon 7130, my first blackberry, and coming from a Treo 650 and all I can say is WOW!

The 7290 doesn't have a speakerphone.

I'm using a Cingular BlackBerry 7130c and it's my favorite!

Much nicer than the 8700c or the Pearl. I kept the 8700c as a backup and sold the Pearl.

I noticed there is a K790a in your profile. I'm interested in this phone, how do you like yours? Where did you buy it?;

Cheers....

Sorry I meant to say earpiece volume is much louder (and clearer) than 7290, and speakerphone is REALLY loud.

K790a is an awesome phone (and camera). I just got a 1Gb card for it today and it'll be my mp3 player. I got it last month when my provider released it. It can't be beat with the amount of features it has.

7130e on Alltel... and I love it. Just waiting for a pearl some day.... some day.....

True that. Keep in mind too that the 7290 is mainly a email/text device, and the phone was secondary to that. Ever since the SureType BBs came out, phone was bumped up to the top.

I honestly tried going back to a full keyboard with an E62 and preferred my BB suretype. I can go faster more accurately on sure type than a full qwerty. I was shocked....

Loving my 7130e with VZW. It's now a part of me and something I tell everyone about who knows me or meets me. Not sure that suretype is as fast as qwerty, but it's pretty darn fast. If the keys were larger then I'd be ripping it out fast or faster than qwerty. I hope the next suretype BB's have the 7105's key size.

Hmmm.. I tried out the K790A for a while, and I love the features it has - particularily the phone being built around the camera.

One large complaint I have is that the volume is pretty poor - that's with M2M and landline. Once I plugged in the propriotary headset, it's excellent sound. Seeg is not the problem here - it's just that I can't hear people period!

Is there anywhere they sell unlocked BlackBerry 7100 series I've checked out a few places, but are there any other places that you folks really prefer??

Thanks

After using the 7130g for about a week, I'm totally in love with this thing. It's such an underrated BB too, I wonder if anyone looked at the spec sheet for this thing.

The best part is it fits PERFECTLY on my hand. Both 8700 and Pearl felt less comfortable.

Anyone will have a hard time convincing me to go back to full QWERTY Blackberries.

I had a 7130 on Cingular and it was great. I upgraded to the pear as I like to be able to carry my phone in my pocket. Both phones are great. Software on the 7130 seemed faster and more stable than my pearl though, but I love both of them.

Since I had not used a BlackBerry before, I could not decide which BlackBerry to purchase. So, now after three months using all three models, 8700c, 7130c and Pearl. I find the 7130c to be the best of all the models, at least for me.

What I Like: Fantastic keys and key spacing. Now that I've learned SureType, I can input faster on it than on qwerty. It's just the right size for one handed usage which is a great advantage under certain circumstances. Terrific stability and speed, I have not had a single slowdown or freeze, a realy treat after using a Treo. Long battery life. Great for multitasking. Syncs perfectly with Outlook, and push email is fantastic. Build quality is very nice and it's very light. It looks like a phone instead of a piece of toast you are holding up to your ear.......

What I Do Not Like: nothing, and that is saying a tremendous amount as I'm really picky and this is the first phone I've had the suits me perfectly.

Cheers....

I also love my cingular 7130c. I came from an 8700c, which i also liked. The best part of the 7130 comparted to the 8700 is the size, and much clearer audio (too many people complained of background noice on my 8700). I was unsure of suretype, but I also have adjusted pretty quickly. I love my 7130c. I passed on the pearl, because i felt like it didnt offer anything new (dont care about the camera or multimedia), but I would like wifi, so I am considering switching to the 8800 when it comes out. It is rumored to be between the 7130 and 8700 in side (mostly width) and will have a full qwerty and wifi.

Here are some dimensions (in millimeters) for comparison:

115 x 56 x 18 7130 BlackBerry
110 x 69 x 20 8700 BlackBerry

106 x 60 x 16 8800 (Crimson, w/ camera)
114 x 66 x 14 8800 (Indigo, no camera)

So it looks as though (based on the pictures I've seen) that even though the Indigo 8800 will be a bit narrower than the 8700, it may very well have a far superior qwerty keyboard than the 8700.

I like everything except the qwerty keyboard on my 8700c. They just gave it some funky keys that are not shaped for efficient typing. True, one can adjust, but I find even after giving it some time, I can still type much faster on my 7130c with regular shaped keys. Which has taught me a lot about the importance of key shape. It appears that the keys on the Indigo are more conventional in shape.

Once I have a chance to see one, if I find the keyboard is a good one, then I'm a buyer!

Cheers..........

I have the 7130e with Sprint and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! i went from an old flip phone to this and its my first ever blackberry/smartphone/web enabled. it's great.

i have a question about the bluetooth though. i'm using this for a business and i need to be able to sync my calendar and address book on an almost-daily basis. but the software provided only works with the wired usb connection. i bought a bluetooth dongle for my computer and i can get the two to recognize each other but is there a way to synchronize my information without plugging the sucker in?

I love my 7130c.

I purchased a regular phone (samsung d807) for the weekends. Used it one weekend and decided to return it. I can't be without my BB. It's like..........it's become an apendage. Oh my God.............I really am cracked.

Wirelessly posted (blackberry 7130e: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I have the 7130e with Verizon and love it. I plan on upgrading to the 8703e because I type more than anything but it's a great device.

My _7130c_ is my FAVORITE of all four BB’s I have !

The sweet spot in terms of size, balance, one handed usage. Plus I have found it to be the most trouble free. Not that the others are problematic, far from it. I'm not of the mind to pick a "winner" as in my experience they are all winners. I have not met a BB that I don't like yet. It's just that some are better than others for my particular usage. That in my mind is the greatest strength of the BB platform is that there are choices and we can each find the one that works for us. The very fact that I enjoy BB's so much is the reason I own four of them and it' fun to switch off and have choices.

But at the end of the day, if I could only have one, it's the 7130 without hesitation. As for me it's the fastest with SureType, and the perfect size.

Cheers...

You don't hear much form 7130 users because they have little to complain about. It's a great device and I'll keep it until there's a 3G version.

I agree with you. That's what's so surprizing for me, is that RIM has discontinued this device so soon after it was introduced.

A mistake in my opinion.
