The Realplayer install, registry edit, and setting up real player to be on wifi b mode is real easy. It would be nice for Cingular to put out branded software from them but for now it works. Those having problems with access to the content should verify their Cingular account is setup correct by using the SIM in a CU500 or similar phone to verify the CV works on there Media Plan. This seems to be the biggest hassle which has nothing to do with the 8525. I do think it is a rip off for the PDA plan to cost an extra $20 and you lose CV and the 200 free txt messages a month compared to the MediaMax 200. RealPlayer Download with Registry Edit Automatically for you Credit is given to ShoGun at XDA for this I just posted here for anyone having trouble with the registry edit. Copy the file to the device and run from the device to install. Then just change the realplayer to wifi b mode 802.11b. Use MediaNet as your connection settings and point your IE browser to cingularvideo.cingular.com |

I have had horrible issues in the past dealing with keeping this plan when I've needed to talk to CS, so I don't particularly want to call in. Any insight would be appreciated.

Quick question - does anything show up in OLAM to indicate that you have CV enabled? Thanks! --Andrew |

I now have cingular video working. The fix I found here was to put my sim in a 3G phone that a mediamax plan will work on. For example, my buddies Blackjack. I then watched cingular video on it and then put the sim back in my phone. Cingular video now works in my 8525. |

I tried new ROMS, I tried the shotgun, ect but the only thing that worked was putting my SIM in a CV phone. After that I was good to go. Hope this helps. |

For those of you who have it working, did you do the upgrade to AKU 3.3? Are you using shogun's cab file? Before I upgraded to AKU 3.3 I did have shoguns cab installed but I can't remember if I had jumpstarted my sim before or after the upgrade. I just know it was working with the Realplayer from AKU 3.3 and now it's not. So far I have tried Netfront, PIEPlus, and the reg hack. So next up is shogun's cab again. Also, I am still running WM5. Just trying to troubleshoot why these fixes work for some and not for others. |

Content is pretty limited and I hate that it won't fill the device screen on 'full screen' settings, but at least it finally works for me.

It does have Wifi, and it says version 2.0.0.28. I know the realplayer is fine though since Netfront plays it. Looks like my new backup browser will be Netfrnt instead of Opera. it doesnt make sense that useing netfront UA settings in the the PIEPlus program which has the same functionallity and it doens work in PIE plus. It is also strange that 2 posters have it working on plain old PIE with one reg edit, this is VERY strange.

Oh wait, I guess alls I would have to do is a hard reset....

@brettatk: Thanks for that info. I guess it will be easier for those that did not do the upgrade. I don't think you even need PIEPlus for it to work either. |

Not totally sure, though. |
