Confused with setup of express mail or media net

I apologize but been searching the forums regarding setting up email I have the PDAconnect plan. Now, the salesman told me that to use express mail since it would be easier. I installed it and chosed yahoo pop, but telling me I have the wrong userid and password which I am sure I have the right one since I tested the login in my laptop. The same goes with gmail.

Now, all I want is having to be notified that I have email and if possible the mail would be pushed down to my 8525 without having to go to the website and read the mail.

Is there any other way to do this. And I look for MediaNet on my 8525 and no icon and not sure if it is there.
