Do I need a new sim card for 3G?

I still haven't gotten a straight answer. I have a 64K sim card. If I upgrade to a 3G phone will need to get a new "3G" sim card?
Some people have said yes others say that their old non-3G sim card worked just fine and they were getting great d/l and u/l speeds.

no. I have a 64k normal non-3G simcard in my phone that I've been using since Mar. 2005 and it works great in my 8525 and LG CU500 on 3G. Anyone that says otherwise is mistaken.
