Custom interface for PPC

Not sure if this is the right place, but I am wondering if anyone has come across an app which will allow you to create custom front-ends for a PPC. I am have been playing with the idea of build a Carputer to play MP3's, video and to GPS, etc in the car but it would cost several thousand dollars to get a system fully up and running. A pocket PC running WM5 or PPC2003 sees to be a better choice since everything nearly needed is there, the only thing missing is an interface which would be more condusive to using while on the road.
Are there any apps, that can run on a PPC which could serve as a media center style interface and have big enough icons so as to be true finger touch instead of stylus?

WA and WAD will do the trick , you can set any Icon of any size for your applications , look it up at www.lakeridgesoftware.com

p.s. you can customize it at your preferences and needs . . . Link

'sta padrissimo!

Someday, I'll learn to do some of this stuff. I'm thinking I'll use my old PDA2k for the same that you suggest jbcon. I want to use it exclusively for GPS etc.

wisbar advance desktop + wisbar advance = awsome design but, your ppc will become slow

neo001 is it very difficult learning how to program wisbar advance like that? i would really love to get my ppc to look like that but i think i'm waiting till i get my 8525 to do it cause i know it really slowed down my 8125 when i tried it last time.. so i'm waiting for a little faster processor to get it done.. hopefully it will work smoother on the 8525... but i guess what i was getting at.. is it just a lot of trial and error?

wm2003 device like one of those ipaqs with voice commands in an amplified cradle is almost what you (OP) suggest, missing only voice commands for GPS as far as i know... but maybe there is voice-enabled GPS software out there as well, one that listen to your commands not only talking "turn left now"? i dont know.
