Yes, but you see, there ARE people getting out of it with the ETF being waived. There are a few topics in the main forum over this (one of them being a "grave" situation.) I know several customers come in here to read what it is we say as well.

That and...not everyone knew about it. Ive heard several reps on calls who didnt even know we're upping the price.

Is it a lack of communication on cingulars part or reps just being stupid? I don't know but its been on the front page of csp for a while. I also commented in most of those threads as well as some others on some other sites in hopes that maybe an uninformed rep will learn a thing or two.

its probably both.

Keep in mind their using "PPU is not a subscribe to feature" as their excuse.... but like it was stated in the stickied thread, if you can cancel you can subscribe. That's what I said to get out of it, worked like a charm.....after 3 escalations and 1 call back... lol

Lucky you, but it isn't going to happen from this point forward based on the current policy which is now widely distributed company-wide.

It's been argued that you can't unsubscribe to it per se since the block is added that still allows you to receive messages but only from Cingular (star services, etc...).

It's not a service that you can cancel but you can restrict it.

If all reps would follow the rules this wouldn't even be an issue but since a few apparently haven't read the memo and letting customers out of contract there are other customers willing to try their luck.

so whats the price? 5r0 cents a message? wouldnt be surprised.

You have to be able to rcv administrative text from Cingular for certain features (* features) to work properly but there is no cost associated so that is not a good comparison.
