Who has Sync problems AND has Appforge Booster instelled?

I have found that I started having sync problems when I had Appforge Booster nstalled. I would get a SyncML GPF during contact sync, in particular, and then the sync would go to completion immediately, even though it was obviously not complete. And I think it may have caused some calendar data corruption during it's first sync after Appforge Booster was installed

And for sure, even Appforge admitted, Booster causes a problem on backup, not allowing you to backup it's "alarms.dat" file. You need to skip that file, and your P800 will also have a kernal error after backup. I uninstalled Booster, and had to manually remove the alarms.dat file from the P800, and viola, the sync also started working again !! And also, obviously the backup problem dissappeared.

I am curious to see who is having this sync problem, who has Appforge Booster, as well. Also, what Windows platform are you using.

AppForge is aware of the problem and is currently working on possible solutions.

With the backup, sync, or both? I saw the e-mail from appforge on my-symbian, but didn't address sync issues.

Unfortunately, they didnt address the sync issue. I am not 100% certain if they are aware of any sync issues. You may want to contact their development team to address the issue with sync.

I did just e-mail them about it. This was after I read this thread in my-symbian about a sync problem and appforge, and tried to remedy in it in my phone, which I did. It is for sure a problem. I wrote them a pretty long e-mail. Let's see if they respond.

Great! After my firmware upgrade (thanks Sung @ Virtual Dynamix, and jmazzotti !), I haven't bothered re-insatlling AppBooster and probably will not do so til' the issue is resolved. Keep us posted on their response to your email.

Woedee -- When you upgraded your firmware, you started from scratch? You didn't just do a restore from right before your upgrade?

I did not restore my settings. I was advised to configure and re-install programs anew, since a restore may replace certain files that the flash recently updated (i.e cxc).

If that's true, that's really crappy. SE should know that many of their units get upgraded firmware multiple times over the life of the phone. Between data settings, photo caller ID, audio dial, and all the settings, i could never keep doing that every time I do a firmware upgrade. i hope they work around it so that the upgraded files are solely in the ROM.

Jeff,
Please send me an e-mail describing EXACTLY what you're talking about with AppForge (including fix) and the part about backup and restore with a re-flash.
