Hi there,

I would like to know if it is possible for me to buy a Samsung D900 on pay as you go Vodafone for £180. Then, simply discard the sim card supplied with it and continue using my old Vodafone pay monthly sim card? Would there be any problem i may occur doing this? If this theory works it will save me £70 buying the phone sim free!

Many thanks,

Mark.

Should be fine. Years ago they used to lock PAYG phones to PAYG sims, however that should have stopped and all Vodafone SIMs should work in the phone.

What am I missing here???? I just looked on the website. and the D900 is free to pay monthly customers. Why would you spend 70 pounds for the phone. Just to throw away the sim card. Why not just upgrade. Like I said what am I missing.

Some people don't want to tie themselves to contracts. I'm thinking of reverting BACK to prepaid after my contract is due over in late February.

Don't discard the SIM. You can sell it on eBay to someone who can't conveniently buy one. I just got a couple of O2 SIMs from a fellow in Liverpool because I won't be in England until the summer.
