v505 with v600 firmware; IMEI number?

I just flashed my at&t Motorola v505 with Cingular-branded v600 firmware. If I wanted to report the IMEI and model number to Cingular, would I simply report the IMEI and tell them I have a v600? I was trying to determine if I even need to report the IMEI number, but the couple of threads on this matter seem to just go back and forth. Any help?

if you have a cingular sim to use, why tell them anything. if you are opening a new cingular account, the imei will tell them everything about the phone.
