T-Mobile Dash rebate problem...be aware

Today I received a letter from the firm that administers the T-Mobile rebates saying that I did not qualify for the rebate that I applied for. So I called the number to find out why, and a very helpful person informed me that a lot of Dash rebates are being rejected due to a glitch in their system that does not recognize the date of purchase. If you get a rejection letter, be sure to call and investigate. Don't just assume that you don't qualify.
Just think...if 1000 people accept that they don't qualify, T-Mobile makes an extra $50,000!!

Think of the children!

That is true for every rebate you are offered. Those rebate companies are always being sued by the Department of justice, or some states atty. general, because they are so shady. You have to stay on top of them.

i've never had any problems with t-mobile. i've been a customer of theirs for more than 5 years without a contract. because i wanted to upgrade to the dash, i signed a 2 year contract and that's when the problems started. my bill is usually around $90/mo. Last month, i got a bill for $258!! my bill stated that i used ALL 1000 of my included text messages in one 24 hour period from 10/29 to 10/30!!!! Finally, after 2 hours on the phone with customer service, they agreed that it would be nearly impossible for me to send 1000 text messages in one day and removed the "overages" from my bill.

wtf?? i get rewarded for finally signing a contract by them attempting to jack me for $150 AND for my rebate?

I got a letter today. Says i'm not eligible because I had upgraded within the last 12 months. That is true, I got my old MDA just last March. Oh well. It was worth a try.

A lot of the rebate problems can be avoided if you call and talk to a customer service representative. It sucks being on hold forever, but I had T-Mo automatically apply the rebates to my phone. So instead of paying 250 or whatever it was they automatically deducted them and I received the phone for 150, plus I had them put my phone on my bill so I wouldnt have to pay for it right then and there. Just be patient ask for a supervisor or an account specialist (I think thats what the supervisor called it) and they should be able to help you out.
