Sales Tax on Data Plans?

Another post/question on the main forum was asking about taxes. I don't have a data plan with cingular, so I can't look, but are they charging sales taxes on data access, as it is suppose to be exempt?

Cellcos slap taxes on everything. And REALLY hefty taxes too. Some as high as 28%!! Not your normal ( much lower) sales tax. They really need to stop that but then again, it's your state's politicians that set the taxes so high so complain to them too.

But my point is (and I may be wrong) but it is my understanding that internet access, regardless of how it's done is except from state and local taxes; at least that is the info I read when i googled the question.
