Can unlocked V3i be used with Verizon?

I recently dropped my V3m and cracked the camera lens. No biggie, the phone still worked... or so I thought. All of a sudden my battery won't stay charged longer than 12 hours and occasionally displays the error message "unauthorized charger" when I plug it in. I don't have insurance so I assume I'm screwed. Getting a new V3m from Verizon would cost me $250 which is the same price I can get an unlocked V3i for. Does the V3i work on Verizon's network and will I be able to use the VZ Navigator software?

GSM != CDMA

Meaning, you can't use a GSM phone on a CDMA network, or vice versa

Last time i checked verizon's site, it said insurance could only be added within 15 days of purchasing new equipment. Did this policy change within the last few weeks?

I did it two months ago. I just added it, no problem. But I also work as a sales rep a major wireless company, so i have access to add and delete any features on any account, given that I have the correct information to access the account. It's pretty standard, and easy to do. But I'm sure if you call into Verizon CS they will tell you that you cant, to avoid people who get insurance only to claim insurance (duh). I've had Verizon for 5 years now, and I've always been able to add insurance, delete insurance, and add it back, anytime! I even added insurance on a phone that was purchased used from a person i found online, and they let me claim insurance on it too. So, if its true you cannot add insurance after 15 days of getting the phone, then its news to me, but im pretty sure it can be done, verizon is probably just being difficult about it.

if you find someone who sells verizon (not at the corporate store) they can add it for you if you ask nicely. but most people wouldnt go thru the trouble bc its not commissionable. they would just give you the phonenumber to customer service.

hope that helps! im going to see if i mess with my insurance tomorrow when i go into work! thanks for letting me know, ive been telling customers they can add insurance anytime!
