!!!!VX7000 backup issues!!!! Pls help

on my Lg vx7000 i tried backing up my pix n stuff with bitpim but it keeps telling me no phone detected ...i have the plug plugged into my phone and into the computer and on BitPims settings i have "auto" for com port ...any tips to get it to work?
