6230?

I was wondering how old the 6230 is. And is it really worth having?. I want to send email, SMS, and surf the net a bit. I'm not sure what else they can do. I am having my laptop banned at work and I want something that will keep me occupied during my downtime. I am on a pretty severe budget and have been looking online for used ones.

Thank you,
Eric Rogers

It is *really* old. Very limited memory; black and white screen.
Web browsing will be very slow, and you will have to have a BlackBerry Data Plan to do anything besides voice and SMS. Make sure you know the total costs before proceeding.

I'd upgrade. Web browsing on a 6230 isn't worthwhile, IMO. It's perfectly fine for email, however and one of the tougher models currently out.

For a little more money and if you search hard it won't be much you can probably get yourself a 7290 at a decent price. I just bought one unlocked for travel and it cost me $75 US excellent condition no less. At least in that case you have a color, quad-band, 32MB, 4.1 os unit.

Well, I'm happy to say that I am getting a 7100t for the paltry sum of $33 US!
Thanks to all who wrote giving advice.

Please note that the 7100t is also GPRS only (not EDGE) and web browsing may be a bit slow.
