what I dont care for: 1.Texting 2.mp3s 3.Vcast

Do you guys have any other reccomendations?

Here is one important fact, you won't get a great interface either way. Verizon has standardized the interface across its model range, so both phones will have the exact same crappy (imo) interface.

From the specs, the K1m is listed to have better battery life. Someone who actually owns the phones will have to comment on the rest

wow only one response? I would imagine these two phones to be fierce competitors

Right and wrong..

with the 8600 there are other display themes to choose from besides for the verizon one that is standard on the phone. with the krazr you can not do this. My 8600 can hold a charge for about two days, and thats with heavy use. I switched from the e815 (motorola) and reception wise, they are about the same. the lag on the krzr drove me up a wall, that phone.. goes so slow. (well at least when i was looking at it in the verizon store). The 8600 looks a lot more appealing also because the play buttons actually light up on the front, you can also read text messages on the front screen..and its better with bluetooth because you can basically get into a watered down menu of the phone right on the front screen with bluetooth connected. drawbacks are the speaker phone on the 8600 is a bit low.. but otherwise.. great phone.. i like it a lot.

Thanks ghostman that helped me out a lot. Im currently using a Foreign phone From South Korea (the SKY phone) so I have no idea which interface is better between the KRZR or 8600. NOt to be cocky or anything but Ive been spoiled with crazy fast animated interfaces of my foreign Asian phones for the past 4 years that NONE of the Current Verizon phones impress me, or can I even tell the difference, they are all outdated and slow.

I guess 8600 is the better phone between the two. any more input?

Speakerphone wise its not... not sure how the music player is on the krazr either but i know that if you receive a call while your listeing to music on the 8600, the music will stop playing and allows you to take the call. same with text messages.

If you get bored of the same color theme or same animation every week like i do, then do not get the krazr, you can not change any look and feel on that phone.. well as far as i know. there were not any display themes besides for tropical, blue, business.. etc (the standard verizon ones).. with the 8600 you have one standard verizon theme that you can not change the colors of (i actually like this theme a lot... its different from the other standard verizon themes).. or you can choose from cross (aka "silver spin" on the VX 8300) or Arch. The software on the 8600 is quick and the reading texts on the front screen is a big help.

Changing the color/theme and the actual quality of the interface are two VERY different things, remember that.

Even though the 8600 has the same Verizon interface the ability to changethe themes makes a huge difference. If I had to choose between these two phones this would probably be the deciding factor. It may not seem like a big deal, but after you use a phone with zero customization ability for two years (for me vx7000, but also includes all other verizon phones without the new flash interface) it will be a huge deal. As to the reception on the 8600, my firend has one and his reception never even comes close to what my e815 will show. Sorry, I have no experience with the krzr. good luck

which phone is built better. like if I dropped it which would survive over the other

I have read reviews on many different sites and compared these two phones (I have the same problem deciding between these two and also the sanyo kantana), while Sprint has better plans, the LG VX8600 for Verizon is the better phone. Cons for Krzr include slow software (lags a bit), and cons for the LG is the speakerphone which is very soft. Cons for both include fingerprint magnet (not a big deal), and the Krzr does look better, but LG is the better phone.

which phone has a louder ringtone and stronger vibration?

Posted by: RxTxK

seems like a really really hard choice

krzr= louder speakerphone

Don't you get a 14 or 30 day grace period to try the phone out? Why not buy one, see if you like it and if you don't, get the other one

so when you guys say the speakerphones are not good are you refering to the overall speaker volume/quality?
In other words:
A. the speakers are bad when talking to someone on speakerphone mode?
or
B. the speakers just suck in general where the qaulity and volume of the ringtones are so bad you can hardley hear the phone?

I would like to know this also. I'm thinking about taking my KRZR back and getting the VX8600 instead. Which one has better ringer quality. From what I have been reading the LG is seems to be the better choice and is much cheaper. I hoping to find out as much as I can so I can make my decision before the 15 day trial period runs out.

I just picked up the VX8600 over the KRZR after reading some reviews and playing with both of them in the store for a little while. I did NOT find the KRZR interface to be particularly slow. They both seemed to be pretty fast. I did find that the interface on the VX8600 much prettier, and the one on the KRZR to be ugly. That matters to me as I'll be looking at it for next year. I also found the VX8600 to be sexier.

The final deciding point was that all of the verizon employees had VX8600, and the one that did have a KRZR wished he had a VX8600.

I've been playing with it for the past day, and am very happy with it.

id go with the LG

with the krzr, the menu is very laggy because vzw took their ui and installed it over moto's stock one, now with the 8600,vzw started fresh with their ui, so however much you dont like it, it will be faster on the 8600.
