Just got a new SLVR L6, Insert SIM?

Hey guys!

I got my mom an unlocked SLVR L6 (Pink) for Christmas.

She has a PEBL U6 right now and took the SIM from that and stuck it in the SLVR. When she powers the new phone on, it says "Insert SIM", even though the card is in there (she tried taking it in and out, made sure its in there correctly). The SIM card works fine in her PEBL U6. We are both with Tmobile.

Yo,

try doing one of two things:

1 - Take the sim card out and get an eraser and rub the eraser on the gold portion of the sim card to sort of clean it up.

2 - When you insert the sim make sure you have it in the right direction (Common known mistake) so that the sim is correctly inserted as shown. (Try to push down on the sim card gently and power up the phone without placing the back cover on the phone just yet to see if the phone will read the sim contact this time.

also make sure the lock is actually locked so the sim card is properly seated and is making good contact.
