I can hear when set to speaker phone or through the earphones but cannot without these. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, is there a fix?

Thanks to anyone out there that can help.

Yeah, I had this exact problem not to long ago. I was under my year warrenty and they replaced my phone. Sent me a new one in the mail and I sent my old one back in the same box.

Thanks for the reply. My warranty ran out on Dec. 8 - what luck. Believe it or not my speaker started working again today in the middle of a call. I had it on speaker phone to listen to my caller and all of a sudden it switched to the internal speaker.

I'm hoping I make it until next December 8, when my contract with Alltel runs out. If not I'll just have to talk on speaker phone.

When mine did it, it was really weird. Thee were certain places I could leave the slider where the internal speaker would work but very few places.. It started working for like a day and then quit working again and I got the new phone. I wish you luck though. Thats why I only get the 1 year contracts so I'll have to get the warrenty. You can get the insurance for 7 bucks a month and if this happens again, 95 bucks will get you a new phone..

You're right I suppose. It worked for 1 day and now doesn't work again. Still talking on speaker phone set to a low volume. I am going to email Kyocera and see what kind of response I get. Will let you know.

Guess no one else has had this problem before warranty ran out.

I will not sign another 2 year contract. I learned my lesson.

This is a very well known KX5 issue and something we repair on a fairly regular basis.

so my alltel store can fix it?

Posted by: Black Cat

It will need to be done at a repair center. If the local store has one, they should be able to fix it.
