I bought an unlocked SLVR for my mom. The menus and software in the phone are weird. First, there is a vertical menu on the left side of the screen (see blurry pic)...for address book, recent calls, etc. No bluetooth option.
I kind of new, but do I need to flash or flex this phone? She has tmobile...and it displays Cingular as well. All help is appreciated. This is my mom's christmas gift, and I'd hate to give up on it.
I am familiar with RSD Lite but not sure what files I need to put on the phone.
thanks

Since this handset is not supported by T-Mobile, there will not be any T-Mobile branded flashs. It sounds like a software corruption. It may be possible to reflash it, but you will have to find an unlocked/unbranded flash file to avoid possibly relocking it to Cingular.

I wasn't able to post a screen shot but the best way I can describe it is a vertical menu of icons on the left of the screen for address book, recent calls, messages, etc. How do I get rid of that?
I need to find the latest firmware I think (?) to get rid of that, have the phone read from the SIM (to display Tmobile instead of Cingular), remove the roaming triangle, and remove the "Orange World" websessions.....help???

I believe that vertical list of menus is normal. To change it to the large icons in a 3X3 order you have to press menu>settings>personalize>main menu>View; Icons or List (pick Icons)
Hope this helps!

if your phone is R4513 with Bootloader 08.D0 except AER and E0R S/W, check out my site at http://my.opera.com/kirklestat/blog and download the T-Mobile flex there and flash it with Flash&Backup3.
