Motorola A1200 not connecting to MPT

I have down loaded and re-installed, up dated on a couple of different computers to get my A1200 to sync up with Motorola Phone Tools. There are no new updated available and I have to manually choose what phone I have. Once I do this it comes up with a correct image of my phone but it just keeps saying it is initializing...... What a pain in the ***! Any suggestions? 
HELP!!!
