Ok, I have the paid $1.99 service on my Dash and I just figured out that I'm having to keep my phone Data connection always ON, because there is a little E next to the Battery and Signal. Is this correct if your using Mal2Web Push email?
Not a big deal, but I'm sure with a always on data connection, my battery would drain faster.

The E just means that EDGE is available, I was in Omaha the other day and it had a G for GPRS

The above is only 1/2 correct.

The larger E or G in the center of the screen lets you know what type of data coverage is available (E for EGPRS and G for GPRS). The E or G next to the battery and signal lets you know you are using data services.

As for mail2web or any exchange service, yes you have to be "always connected/on" to receive real time updates and email.

Shackk,
That's what I thought.
I guess I can turn it off it I'm wanting more battery life.
Thanks

No problem

Just go into comm manager and shut off from there if you do not need it or just want to manually check every once in a while. I usually get about 1 1/2 days on one charge with mine and that is moderate calling and with data "always on" if you need something to judge by.

the E actually just tells you what kind of coverage zone you are in. in this case Edge data is available. Just because it shows up there does not mean it is consuming more battery power. it only makes a difference when you are actually transferring data, then it will drain your battery

On the Dash/S620 there are actually two locations for the E or G. The main E lets you know you are in an EDGE coverage area. The smaller E, near the battery and signal lets you know there is a data connection in use.
The problem is there is no way to tell if the connection is actually transmitting or sitting idle, but all I know is if I leave that little E near the battery, I feel I have a connection in use.
Someone happen to know other wise?
