ok clearly if i had the cash i would buy a 903SH.. but they are selling for like 600 bucks on Ebay... so i have to settle for a 902... and i'm wondering which 902 is better and most importantly the mp3 ringtones... i dont really mind converting to something like .wav but yea preferably .mp3... if you could give me some feed back thats cool. and if you know a place thats selling for extremely cheap... (ebay cheap) please let me know :P i'm a poor college student....

Posted by: azn_boi_128

there;s not such thing as a 902Shf only 902SH

and on all 902 theres only mmf ringtones no mp3 there is a way to convert tho

Posted by: chibi04

okie that solves 2 issues for me.... now what do you guys think a decent price is on the phone.. i've read in the forums that around 200-300 is a good price.. is that for a used or brand new....? brand new would be good i'm going to try to look for one on ebay. if anyone has a used one for sale and wants to get go of their's that would be great..

Posted by: yokomoto

lol if you like 902sh thats fine... they kinda have a little bit more trouble than the 903sh.
903sh will still retain its retail price of arounf 500 and up... you'll be lucky to find one that is still in good/mint condition that is under 500$

902sh should be a little cheaper, even for used ones...

good luck... try ebay.co.uk.

Posted by: chibi04

trouble? what kind of trouble... i heard that the 703sh's had issues with random restarts if you screw up on the firmware flashing..... i havent seen much of those issues.... on the 903sh most of the issues are with mp3s and DRMs... i'm not sure about issues with the 902sh... could you tell me about them so i know before i buy? not alot of reviews on the 902SH's online.. XD.. thanks for the info in advanced. :P

Posted by: yokomoto

yeah not alot of reviews because that phone is kinda out. but that phone crashes a lot and a lot of random restarts etc. if you do get it look up some of the different FW for it. some of them are not that stable.

Posted by: ace587

been looking at the phone, looks pretty good, i saw a black one and looks very nice, i might trade my v800 for it

Posted by: Kevbodian

902sh is a great phone and doesnt suffer from any random restarts. neither does the 703sh. of course every phone has some that have defects, but for the most part these phones are problem free.

for the most part = 99% of the things. On forums, the only thing you read are problems, but those are the 1%. Nobody talks or asks questions about something that isn't acting up. Compare how many issues with these sharp phones with how many issues with phones in the Motorola section. Im surprised people still buy Motorola.

@ace587

good luck trading that v800 for a 902. the 902 is a nice phone, be prepared to pay a little extra on top of your v800; even if its in prime condition.

@chibi

Really depends on your budget this time. A new 902 will be high, like $400+. A used one will still be $200-400. A new 703/703shf will be around $300, and a used one should be around $200. I haven't checked the prices on them lately, but if you can find them, that's what I would assume they would be.

Other noteable phones: V802SE, V804SS, any Toshiba manufactured in 2006/02 or before (803, 902, 903, 904).

i gave up on the 703shf, cant find a black one . abt the 902 price is not a problem, the clicking noise of the v800 is driving me mad, does the 902 have a clicking noise too???. I dont like the toshibas though, and i think their harder to deal with, so id go with sharp, even though they have less battery lives than toshibas. 902sh seems the only japanese phone, that suits me. Thanx Kev

Posted by: Kevbodian

902 has no clicking noise i think. battery life also depends upon usage. with my usage i get 3+ days with my 903 battery. 902 chinese firmware is the best for that phone. the toshibas dont have reprovisioning, but the 902 permits music hehe.

Posted by: ace587

so kev, which would you pick the 902 of 703shf?, in terms of ease, more light, and better battery, i just use mp3s like 20 mins a day, most of the time its on standby

Posted by: azn_boi_128

i would think the 902 would be better. Yes its a lil older but its also more feature packed both of the phones will not have mp3 as ringtones but you can use mp3 funtions for both phones but the 902 uses SD cards which is cheaper then the mini-sd found in the 703sh/shf

Posted by: chibi04

anyone have any good 360 degree pictures for th 902sh? i think i'll get the 902sh cause the screen for the 703 is smaller... the 902sh screen size is exactly the same as the 903sh. but brand new 902sh's are 400?!?!? wow...thank alot for the info guys :P

btw.. the v800 is the SE phone that flips right? with the dual screens? i heard that phone wasnt that great and the software is slow? can you confirm that?

Posted by: ace587

software is not slow, just be careful about flipping the v800, it makes that crazy clicking sound

i looked up mobile-review it had some good comments, last questions, hows the size and weight compared to the v800, and does the 902 make a normal flash like the k790? while shooting pics?, thanx any real cons you guys want to tell me Thnx!

Posted by: chibi04

crazy clicking sound? oh you mean like when the hinge gets fully extended? thats fine my mpx220 does that.. i liked the sound kinda cool :P but thats jus me XD

ya i cnt check my phone while in class, my classmates hear it lol

Posted by: azn_boi_128

The 703 has a click sound when u open the clamshell

2 ace587
weight wise its about the same as ur v800
the flash is led so its not like the K790/K800 its like anyother phone w/ led flash dim when u turn on and when u take the pic it goes brighter

a con i can thing about about 902 is mp3 ringtones just have to convert not that hard but u just have to convert a lil more work
and the camera isnt the best its 2mpx cam but not very good. its very good comparin to like the krzr but still after the 903 lol the 902 cam isnt that best ahah

chibi I own a 902sh and by far thats the best phone that I've ever had. It is good to have the HK firmware because it is the most stable and it never really give me any trouble. They are pretty cheap now, IF you could find one

Posted by: azn_boi_128

i got one lol just flashed to ferrari fw will flash to hk sooner or later lol

10/10 condition white lol

Posted by: chibi04

lol ace looks like we're both looking at the same phone on ebay huh? i just saw your bid on it hahaha :P

Posted by: AL9999

The V800's click sound is the loudest I've ever heard of all clamshell phones. The flip barrel hinge is extremely stiff, which probably contributes to the noise. 703SH/SHf flip click sounds are far quieter and more like GX10 and GX20 sounds.

I'd prefer just a standard 703SH, Euro firmware. 703SHf only came out in JP firmware and will have MMS issues, while the 902 still has the old red Vodafone branding and its camera module was still young and unpolished.

Posted by: azn_boi_128

i got the K800 n73 D900 and 903 right now yes all the 3.2 cam's and sometimes i still go back to the 902 just becuase its shape

its mroe rounded then the 903 and comparin to the D900 it looks a lot better lol
thats why i sold both the D900 and N73 =D

Posted by: chibi04

my sister has a D900... its pretty nice and good battery life.. though i'm not fond of the sliding action...... i wish 903s were cheaper.. and by the time they are it'll be absolutely impossible to find a mint/new one... only like semi good used ones.. sigh..

Posted by: azn_boi_128
