Hi there,

I'm very new to Blackberry and not that technically minded either.

I have been given a Blackberry that has been setup for me already. On the main screen it shows the background and menu options and also my email address. Is there any way I can remove my email address to stop it from showing on the main screen?

You can hide the secondary mail icons by clicking the ALT button, then clicking the wheel, and select "hide application". Then just use the "Messages" icon.
