L6 frustration

I have a Motorola L6, a USB cable to connect it to the computer, and a program called "Mobile Phone Tools" yet i still cant get the phone to sinc to the computer or transfer files between the two. I had a sony ericsson phone a while back with which i used a file manager to transfer items. it worked so flawlessley. is there any download for my phone similar to that or anything that will work? im going crazy.
