I just recently got a data cable for my kyocera kx-5 but my service provider is cricket. I believe I read somewhere that you can only access the phone if you bought the cable from a cricket store for the insanely resasonable price of $69.99 ( they package crap to come with it ). It was a gift so I figured Id try anyway the cable fits no probs but after installing the kyocera mobile phone tools and selecting my phone it wont connect probably due to the cricket software on the phone . I was just wondering if I need to get some sort of cricket software? I try to connect to it through bitpim but it tells me there is a com port error. With other programs I see that com port 1 is open but it doesnt detect any kind of phone. Any suggestions as I wouldnt want to have a useless $40+ dollar data cable.
