Dash Program Memory question

Hi Everyone,

I own a Dash and have a question as it relates to Program Memory. When I turn on the phone, I have 20,240 KB free. After I start using the phone and use apps like Internet Explorer, Opera Mobile (version 8.0u1), Java for use with google maps and gmail, etc., program memory reduces to about 10,000 - 13,000 KB free and sometimes even much less.

What do I do after I use a program? I use EXIT if available, if not I use Task Manager to close all apps. Even after I close all apps, delete all Internet Explorer and Opera Cache, the program memory stays around 10,000 to 13,000 KB or even less. Normally this amount of memory isn't a problem, but occasionally the phone will do weird things and even lock up. So the bottom line question is how does one truly free memory without turning the phone on and off? I have used SKtools, but it only releases a small amount of memory, but it never gets it back to 20,240 KB free. Any ideas?

Thanks,

GP

Hit "refresh" in the task manager menu and you'll see how much free memory you REALLY have after closing the apps. For some reason, it doesn't refresh on its own while you're in "task manager".

Hi,

I forgot to mention it, but yes, I do hit option "2" refresh to come up with the amount of free program memory.

Thanks,

try this app. it closes all apps and also has hibernate to release memory but not close apps http://www.oxios.com/memory/

resetting once everyday or every few days is what i do. what apps are you using? if you really can't recover much space, it could be that an application has a memory leak. how much use do you get out of it before you experience problems?
