What is the going price for a replacement LCD for the Samsung T-809 and would I be able to fix it myself?

i bought 3 of those phones this summer, 2 of them have cracked screens, no abuse or anything, didn't even drop them. i called samsung and they will replace the screen for 75 dollars, however i think it should be free as they are not holding up well. i have had cell phones last years without any problems so know it isn't me. good luck.
