Transfering contacts from P910i to Pearl

How can I go about using bluetooth (or any other means/software neccessary) to transfer my 400+ contacts on my SE P910 onto my BB 8100 Pearl without having to enter each one in individually onto my new pearl? Are there any contact/address book editors that I can use on my computer to access, edit and add to my BB's address book? Pardon my newbie-ness, I just got the BB, and its my first, and its a totally different learning curve.

Transfer from the 910 to your SIM, and then put the SIM in the pearl and transfer back to the Pearl?

yg17's idea is the usual; with 400 contacts you'll need to do it in two batches (SIM == 250 contacts max, usually). Also if you have multiple numbers for a contact they'll get saved as seperate line items on the SIM card (usually - don't have a P990i tho).

The people over of BlackBerryForums and PinStack all seem to use Outlook and/or Outlook Express to manage their contacts, which the BB then syncs with; definitely an option if your P990i can sync as well. Try poking around on those forums for help with this...

Myself, I use SyncML (a technology) -- I keep my contacts all built at Mobical (http://mobical.net/), and sync them onto my different phones. Unfortunately for me, the BB devices do *not* have SyncML native (sheesh), so a $30 3rd party plugin is needed (I'm using the Nexthaus syncml plugin, works fine).

I think the P990i is SyncML friendly -- you can always sync your contacts *up* to Mobical for free, then download vCards or whatever from their website and import that into Outlook or somesuch. I've definitely exported my Mobical calendar in ICS format and imported it into GoogleCal just fine - it's a fine, feature-rich webUI they offer us mere mortals for free use...

If you can sync with Outlook it is by far your best option for a middle man. Sync your SE to Outlook and after installing the BlackBerry Desktop Manager sync your BB with Outlook. Quick and easy!
