Kyocea KX5 Slider Changing Faceplate procedures?

Does anyone know how to change the front faceplate of the Kyocea KX5 Slider Sonic? We've changed the backplate but are stumped with how to change the front one. There are two screws located on the front cover that are inaccesable without taking it the slider apart. Any help is appreciated.

You have to take the two halves apart to get to the other screws. Once I tried but changed my mind when I got it open.

You have to manipulte the slide to get it into the correct position to access the hidden screws while not tearing the flex. Tricky, but doable.
