Blackjack- Radio turns off when battery is low- any way to disable this???

I realize that there have been plenty of threads debating the blackjack's battery life. This is not one of those threads.

My issue is that when the battery gets low, the phone automatically cuts off the wireless transmitter; I can't make or receive calls or texts. This is a very annoying "feature"; I'd rather just have the phone stay fully enabled till the bitter end.

The best part of this is, once the radio automatically turns itself off, it does not turn itself back on when you plug in the phone to charge.

Would appreciate any help with this.

Dont' think there's anything that can be done. I noticed this when I was force draining my batteries. It didn't happen til very very close to fully drained for me (like less than 1% juice left). I assumed it happened at the point where there wasn't enough to really run the radio, but enough ti still run other functions.

Get the extended battery and you will have much longer battery life. The difference is unreal and you will be much happier, I know I was.

this is a samsung feature. i dont like it either and none of the htc wm5 phones i have had do it.

IMHO, it's an excellent feature! Without it, you might get a few extra minutes of phone, but with it you get a few hours of access to your contacts, calendar, etc. I've always hated when my phone died and I couldn't remember someone's number since I never manually have to dial anymore, I just pull up a contact and hit the green button.

Actually, it's not a Samsung feature. I had a Verizon VX-6700 (HTC Apache re-braded by UTStarcom), and yes, it did the same thing. I think it's a Windows Mobile thing.

Not a WINMO thing. My Wizard does not do it. I love that about it. IMHO when the phone is off it's value just dropped about $300...

I agree about the value dropping $300.

On another note, it could be a WINMO thing. Just because your previous WINMO handset didn't have this feature set doesn't mean that it didn't have it. It may have, only it wasn't enabled.

To the OP's point, this has got to be by far the most annoying thing about this phone. So much so that I'd opt to return it if I could. If anyone can find a fix for this please let us know.

I've owned several Windows Mobile devices with various version of WM on them - the Blackjack is the only one I've used that has performed this "feature".
