After making a my_mp3 folder and putting the files in there, it now plays mp3's for me. I dont know if they are changing things, but this is a brand new phone as of 12/20/06. as usual everyones mileage may vary |

ONE MORE TIME FOR THE SLOW PEOPLE... WITH VERSION 3 SOFTWARE, THE 8300 HAS A MUSIC PLAYER THAT IS ABLE TO PLAY BOTH WMA AND MP3 FILES. ALL MUSIC FILES SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE MY_MUSIC FOLDER. THE FRONT CONTROLS LAUNCH THE MUSIC PLAYER OR IT CAN BE STARTED FROM THE GET-IT-NOW MENU. If your phone isn't working properly it is because it either wasn't upgraded correctly or is malfunctioning. ![]() |

sorry if this doesnt agree with you folks. later |

Verizon sent me a brand new phone (another LG VX8300) which is already on the latest software version (3) - but now when I go to "My Music," and even when I go to "Sync Music", I get an error that says "No Application." I reinstalled the drivers, bought the verizon music essentials kit, and nothing has worked. Neither windows media player (version 10) nor Vcast music manager can detect my phone even though the drivers are working properly and my computer makes the chime noise to indicate that it knows something's been plugged in. The real messed up part? Bitpim sees my phone and I can do anything I need to with this program...Everything works perfectly, except of course, uploading music. Here are my questions: 1) Has anyone found a way to force Bitpim to allow .wma files? Or does it absolutely have to be converted to mp3 - cuz my phone can't use mp3's in "My Music" - only in ringtones. 2) Is there another program besides Bitpim/Windows media player/Vcast music manager, that I could use to get .wma files onto my phone/micro SD card? 3) Is anybody else having this problem with the same phone or is it just my crappy luck again?? Going absolutely nuts here...Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks. Joe |
