Is there anyway to use the LG 8600 with Windows 2k. I am trying to dowload music to my phone. I can not change to XP. Are there workarounds or alternate software?

Yea I found myself in the same situation. What can I say i'm to cheap to buy winxp

I use a lg 8500 and the only real difference I know of is the fact that the 8600 is a flip and has 20 megs of storage (quoted from something I read ealier no clue if this is correct) vs the 8500 that is a slide and has like 62 megs of storage.

So this may work for you.

These are for the SD card (mini micro whatever it is) since I have not tried to load music onto the phones memory.

opition #1 Music essecials kit and SD card (can be done with bluetooth though i've never tried it) :
Download and install bitpim and load it up.
Make sure you goto view and enable view filesystem
After you have it loaded and it knows your phone go down to filesystem and navigate to mmc1\my_music and drag your music into there and be prepared to wait a long while for the data to transfer. After that is finished do a power cycle and viola you have music on your phone now

opiton #2 Card reader and SD card
This is by far the fastest opiton. Basicly run to walmart or where ever and get a card reader that will read your SD card. (I bought a sandisk 512 came with a adapter to plug it into SD compatible readers) I bought a no name 21 in 1 card reader for 20 bucks and man I gotta say it's unbeleavible. Transfer speeds vs bitpim are amazing took almost an hour to an hour and half to transfer one lewis black cd onto the card using bitpim and with the reader it was litterly 15 maybe 20 seconds. Anyways...
Here is how to do it. Get the sd card and format it on the phone then take it out the phone and pop it in your reader and you'll see 4 folders. Toss your music into the my music folder and bam you got music to play.
