I searched but could not find it, sorry if it is already out there.

I am thinking about getting a blackjack. Can each contact in the phone have their own ringtone that i download from cingular. So when my wife calls, she has her own ringtone. When my friends call they can each have thier own personal ringtone. thanks for the help

As in most MS smartphones, you can have a ringtone for each contact. You do not have to download ringtones from Cingular... you can get them from other sources (free) or make your own bye editing music and such.

To do this, edit a contact and select a ringtone for the caller. Without any other mods, the ringtones need to be in a default directory ("\Application Data\Sounds" I think). Though that can be changed (do a search on forum). Most MIDI, MP3 or WMA files can generally be used.

What I wish is that there was a way to assign ringtones to a Contact Category in Outlook (Moto phones like Razr have this). Then, I can assign diff tones to groups of people without having to assign them individually. I can quickly associate people to groups via Categories in Outlook, sync them to my phone, and have diff rings for them. I.e. on my old Razr I used to have diff rings for friends, family, work colleagues, etc...I'm surprised no one has ever written a program to do this.

Actually, the ringtones CAN be in Sounds... but most of us are putting them either in My Documents root or in the root of the SD card. I've edited like 30 different mp3s down for mine. I like the tones don't seem to have a set length requirement. I've made some over 30 seconds.

Make sure you have them in the ROOT of your SD card, not in a folder. That's where mine are and the work fine.
