How To Get Calls While On The Internet

I tried to search for an anwser but could not find anything. I have an MDA with T-Mobile and just relized that while I am on the internet I do not receive any calls. They just go straight to voicemail. I called T-Mobile and the answer I got was that since the phone transfers alot of data while on the internet it can't take the call also. I just wanted to see if there was any way around this or if that is correct. Thanks for the help.

I don't know, but I wold be suspicious of that answer. I have an MDA on cingular, and I have never missed a call when on the internet (and I use the internet all day long). I don't even think it has to do with the Tmobile rom, because I had that on my MDA for about four months and never experienced that problem. Call Tmobile back and try to talk to someone else. It takes a long time to get through to somebody who is knowledgeable about these devices.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) Opera 8.60 [en])

Actually you can and will recieve calls if your internet is on assuming your not using data. In other words your calls go to your mailbox if the call occurs while your downloading streaming or surfing because data is coming through. If you have your internet on but are not doing any of those a call should go through to your device.

With GSM if a call comes in while your using data it should override you data and allow the call to come through. Voice has priority. In theroy this is how it should work but it doesn't always happen that way.

I'm not 100% sure if this is just for outgoing or if it's for incoming calls as well. Once UMTS becomes more available this won't be a problem anymore.
