Why do you have that? You don't need that treo....

When you get asked this, what do you say?

What do you show them, to show them that their little cute razrs are nothing compared to your treo...

let it roll

Posted by: fishera

Show them that your phone holds addresses and then go all rambo text messaging in front of them lol... thats what I usually do. Sometimes I show them Google Maps or my MP3 collection, or take them to the BBC on the web.

I hate it when people ask me that question. Also my family asked me that, and over the last three years Ive switched them all to smartphones of some kind... T-Mobile Dash, Samsung t809, and a Sony Ericsson w810i. Then.. they relize there razr's were horrible phones. Except the v3m and the v3xx are pretty decent.

I show them the games I have and the movies I have and the MP3's I have and it makes it worth it not too mention the other stuff like Push email and IM messaging

Posted by: fillthemup

I know I'm just gonna get, from all my friends and people, "why did you spend $300 on that? you don't need it!"

psh, but, i do

Have a race....

First one to retrieve their email....

Go.....

Posted by: fillthemup

Perfect, haha

I show them email, scores of games (faster than they can call their friends), big colorful screen with games Google maps. I friggin love this phone.

I usually turn around and ask them "show me a movie ( Grey's Anatomy), mp3s, snes games, im, email, web, audiobooks, textbooks, excel graphs, and etc on your phone?"

Usually they can show me mp3's and sometimes movies/shows. But that is it.

Sometimes I then ask "how many songs/videos/pics can you have stored on your device?"

Most often I find that someone who asks me that usually has a mobile and a PDA (most often a Palm of some sort).I mean I do have a RAZR as a just in case/when I feel like it type thing (to throw in a small purse when going out,or to slip in a pocket when going running etc)-but generally,I find that I feel most comfortable with my Treo, mainly because I have all my information at my fingertips without having to fumble for my PDA (or hope I didn't forget to bring it along).

Lately my number one thing to show is using Directory Assistant-used it the other day in the car with a friend three times in the span of 5 minutes,to look up various directions and numbers we needed while running errands-all without calling 411-which is what she was about to do.

Best response I know of would be "Because I can!"

I had a Treo 600 a little over a year ago, and the only thing I didn't like about it was the 160x160 screen. Going from a 320x320-pixel Tungsten E to that just didn't work for me. If the Treo 650 was as cheap as my 600 was, I'd have gotten one and would probably still have it, but I "de-converged" and now have a Tapwave Zodiac 1 and a Razr.

I usually say that it has alot of stuff that i use like the calendar, phone/address book, ... and ill show them and usually the question'er see's why i have my 700p

Posted by: fishera

My girl asks me why I have that thing and most of the time I just poke her with the nub antenna and she laughs. I think it is one of the best features, my Treo 650 can actually defend me. lol

Quoted for truth. The antenna stub is truly a fearsome defense mechanism.

I keep my life on my Treo. My finances are managed on it, my calendar is kept on it. I use it to look up phone numbers, addresses, and street directions on the go. I can stream 128kbps netradio, and stream music and video from my PC if I'm bored. My email arrives in my email client seconds after it hits the server. I use it to surf pages while I'm killing time at school/appointments/wherever. I've tried to go back to a normal phone, and I can't.

yeah.......huh......regular phones...lol

Buncha geeks Not only do I look cooler than you when someone rings on the RAZR.....I can watch movies & check email on the go too! SO, why do you have that thing???

Posted by: Orlando_65

You sure do look cool with that RAZR. But then again, so does every other person with a RAZR to your left...and right...

Tru that. I got one for compatability& hidability. Its OK but I still dont get it. usually you see me talking on the most unfashionable AX390, while the V3 hides in the computer bag

I show 'em my calendar view in DateBk5 that lays out the entire week like an old paper datebook. Got that on your Razr? Absolutely perfect for my level of appointments, it really lets me get a feel for how my week is going to be. Then I show 'em a threaded SMS conversation and ask if their phone does that. How about some pictures. 320 x 320 is pretty darn good for displaying a pic, like Brittney getting out of that limo.

You watch movie clips or entire movies? Do you create, edit, send, and receive spreasheets, Powerpoint presentations, or Word documents? Do you view PDF documents? Do you have over 11,000 applications to choose from? Can you view and edit CAD drawings and files? Connect to an FTP? Carry 8GB of data and media?

Once you try a smartphone, there is no going back to a "dumbphone."

Props......

When RAZR lover mocks my Treo, I use it to beat them. A skin case is necessary for such activities though, or else blood would seep into the housing

Posted by: gruss01

Sorry folks I shoulda mentioned I got a Palm tethered to the RAZR, so I can pose with the best of em with the RAZR, OR pull out the palm and grab my email, surf and generally geek out just as well as you all can
Just pokin fun, i didnt think the treo folks were so touchy

But there IS "going back" to a "dumbphone" AND a 320x480-pixel PDA that can connect to said phone. (If my PDA's battery goes flat, I can still use my phone.)
