Just got my 8525!!!

Just got it delivered but am having a few errors with it. I put the sim and battery in no problem and I see the U and G ( in different areas, drove around to test it ) but for some reason it gives an unknown connection error when I try to access the net. I tried editing it to isp.cingular with pass CINGULAR1 with no luck, is there anyway to reset it to the default settings, and then add a working net to it? Please explain how.

Anybody? The guide doesn't say how to hard reset the phone or what settings to use.

just go in to settings, connection, edit modem, then change the isp to wap you should be set to go,

I tried to but kept getting errors so I deleted all modem connections now try to add Cingular GPRS and get the message it already exists, and I can't edit it as it doesn't show up under connections.

Are you talking about connecting to the general internet, or Cingular services? It could have something to do with your plan setup. They tried to sell me on the idea that I couldn't use some internet functions if I got an unbranded phone off ebay, or didn't have the right data plan (that's BS!). Where did you get your phone from (just curious)?

Can't connect to the net at all ( PIE ), I got it from Amazon.com

Well, what kind of data plan do you have? What kind of sim card are you using?

PDAMax ( the one amazon offers for 40$) and the 3G sim that came with the phone.

Anybody know of anything I could attempt?

Tried all of this:

-Soft Reset = 10 Times
-Hard Reset = 2 Times
-Setting Changes ( All Correct ) = 20 + Times
-Cingular Customer Care Call = 1 Time, Said To Change Settings But They Were Already As They Stated They Should Be.

8525 is the best phone I've ever owned, yep, best PHONE, and everything else is amazing as well, but I really want to get the internet on my phone and even with all of the correct settings and everything else, nothing has fixed it. I hope it's not the device, I don't know if it is, the plan is correct, PDA Unlimited, I can do everything but access the internet. Please help.

You may have a bad radio...if you hard reseted the device and it still does it then its either the phone or something not provisioned right on your account. Make sure that PDA is provisioned right on your account ball calling Cingular CS. If not XBM it for a replacement.
