Hi everyone, I picked me up a branded 810i phone from cingular, downloaded Davinci and unlocked it to perfection, I have had SE for years and i Love them.

Here is my slight problem (annoyance) Sometimes when im talking to someone on the phone and if the person is whispering, or even when the other person is not talking i get like a sea shell sound comming out of my ear piece (u know the sound u get when u put your ear to a sea shell lol)

And also certain people im talking to late at night (like girls) are whispering so they dont wake anyone up and if they talk low enough the sea shell sound seems to break up the conversation at times.

Anyone else has this problem and know how to fix it. thanks

Check out the posts about flashing your 810i. I flashed mine and the call quality along with volume was greatly improved. Other report getting rid of the hissing noise all together. I never had it so not sure but can testify the call quality/volume will get better with firmware flash and new acoustic drivers.

Two threads to look at: (Both essentially the same on the same topic. Read both before flashing with the free flash setup. The flash using their tool is free but time consuming and may take multiple times because its basically hacking its way in the phone. Read the post thoroughly and its relatively straight forward. I suggest using fungied.cheese preloaded setup that you can download. It already has all the files in rar file for extraction including the phoneXS application and all you have to download it and then flash using his settings.)

xxkhbxx Just contact fungied.cheese and he will upload it some where for you. The pack I have is with older drivers. He has changed to some newer drivers than in the pack I used.

vibe69 All I can say is its a trail and error process. It works for some while not others. Try using different acoustic drivers. Go to the forums I linked to and contact fungied.cheese or post with your issue. Others have used various driver to resolve the issue. If your 810 is still under warrenty from Rogers I would suggest returning it to exchange it for another one. I have had others who did this to get one with better quality. Just have to keep trying. For me the rewards of all the functions of the phone are worth it but some its not. Just a personal decision. Try to post get some different version drivers and then reflash if you can't return it to exchange it.
