Cannot assign file as ringtone...?!

Hey, I just got a new nokia phone and got a couple of mp3 ringtones from a friend by Blutooth.

Now when i go to set one of them as a incomming call ringtone, it tells me it can not do this. After reading a litle in the book, I learned that this is a protection that they put on so that people would have to pay and get a certified ringtone or something...

So how do I go arround this?

Thanks!!

Cuz im a noob, and i've learnt lately that you may need something called Diego. I'm on the hunt for one, but it's not that easy.

Good luck

Hi, it'd be helpful if you can tell us which Nokia and which provider you're using.

there is already a way arround it, its called purchasing the songs through your provider's WAP portals, ie: mymobilehomepage.rogers.com or wap.fido.ca

You can also try .wma as well. some Nokia's support .wma ringtone. Besides why should you pay $2 for a 30 sec clip of song when you can download the entire song for the same price and make your own ringtones.

ya... your funny and smart! Paying for ringtones is in my opinion kind of stupid. This is just another way for big corporations to make even more money on something they dont even pay for. Paying 3 to 5 dollars per ringtone is none sense. If they didn't exagerate theire prices I would buy from them, but the price they charge compared to the profit they get is ridiculos and I will not be encouraging them.
