8525 / skip voicemail password / number macros

On my coworker's RAZR , she does not enter a password to voicemail when calling from cellphone.

Cingular customer support says that the 8525 does not support this...

Separately but similar, is there a way to have a string of numbers input ala macro? This would be most helpful when calling USAir Chairman's line, to have my Dividend Miles number automatically be played out.

When I moved to the 8525, I moved from Cing blue to orange. On blue I had to enter password...on orange with the 8525 I don't have to enter a password....I didn't do anything....that's how it has worked since I set up voicemail on orange.

I never enter a password with my 8525. Voicemail access isn't dependent on your handset, so again Cingular doesn't know what they're talking about.

so now that we've established that I should not have to enter a password, what do I change?

well, are you an orange customer or blue?

I don't know

call voicemail
go to user options
listen for promt for administrative options
passwork skip/retrieval should be set to ON

doing this off the top of my head, but those are the basic steps. Voicemail is independant from the phone

that worked, thanks..you're right, has nothing to do with phone. I think Cingular customer service reps are hired off the floor of Best Buy
