so are those things any good? i mean, $5 for a shiny sticker that you put on the inside of your phone's battery cover. anyone have an opinion on these?

I think that if they really worked, it would be worth it for cell carriers to install them as original equipment. Five bucks for a sticker to fix or at least cut down on dropped call and weak signal complaints would really cheap. I have yet to see on built into a cell phone, have you?

I think they are a scam. If you want to boost your signal, get an external antennae of a signal repeater.

They don't work. I bought one for my last phone because I had really bad service in my home. After I installed the booster I still had horrible service. Don't waster your time or money on it.

They don't work--at least not in my experience. In fact, it seemed to make my signal worse while it was on my phone. But I have a friend who swears by them. So, I think if that's something you really want to try, it wouldn't hurt anything, especially not at $5.

These are the biggest scams around!! You can google it and see many reports..

At $5 people dont think twice.. but think if you sell 100 of them at $5 you make good money.. from foil paper!

Think about it, there is no contact made with the existing antenna, how would it enhance reception? These things are so cheap I have gotten at least a few for free, I just throw them in the garbage. I'm still surprised that the crooks who came up with this haven't been sued into oblivion.

In theory, it would "enhance reception" by acting as either a directing element or a reflecting element (neither of which is actually connected to the radiating element in a typical multi-element antenna). It would make the reception and transmission more directional, though; you would have to aim the antenna toward the tower to see any benefit.

I agree that if they worked, phone manufacturers would build them into phones.

It is funny that stores like Eckerd and CVS sell them for $5-10 after all these years, and many garbage salesmen on eBay include them as free "gifts."
