Hi, I currently have a Motorola T720 that I got about 3 years ago. I was satesfied with it when i got it but since it's battery is ending its lifespan I am looking for a replacement.

Basically I'm looking for a pay as you go phone with a price under $250 CAD, that can use the MSN Mobile messaging service, I'm not really looking for any other bells and whistles.

The best option I have found is a Sony Ericsson k510a at Fido for $200 plus a $50 pay as you go card.

I am currently with Rogers and would like to keep my current phone number, as I have a coveted 416 area code number (if you live in the GTA you know how no one likes the 647 prefix).

So I have two basic questions, but any other advice would be helpful.

1. Should I wait until mid-March so I can keep the same phone number?

2. Is Fido service any good? Ive always been a little apprehensive about them (Plus they don't list the SE k510 as having the ability to do MSN IMing).

Also, I may be able to buy a SE Vodaphone 802SE for <$300 CAD, but I'm not sure if it is unlocked, and since it's a Japanese phone and it's more than a year old, should I even bother with the hassle?
